Central heating with instant hot water, log burning stove (logs available to purchase at farm next door). Please note: no washing machine or dishwasher to protect biological septic tank. Good library of books, maps and games, DAB radio, hi-fi and CD's. DVD player with good selection DVDs but no live TV. Free Wi-fi with ultra-fast connection speed.

 

Electricity costs included in rental EXCEPT in the period Oct-March when this is chargeable (at cost) based on meter readings. This is due to the huge increase in electricity costs (central heating uses an electric boiler)

 

Towels and bed linen are provided with fresh mattress and pillow protectors with each changeover..

 

Guests are requested to generally clean and tidy the cottage prior to departure. 

 

Garden chairs, picnic table/parosol and BBQ. Boardwalk and jetty give lake access for fishing and swimming but please note no canoes/boating (nature reserve). Bird hide with covered veranda at the lakeside with binoculars, books, etc. Off road parking. Spacious, lockable garage/store for bikes, gear and equipment. Well behaved dogs allowed (strictly downstairs only!). No smoking. Beach and coastal path at Silverdale 1½ miles. Gait Barrows nature reserve starts at doorstep, Pleasant short walk to Leighton Moss RSPB bird reserve. 

 

Shops: Silverdale 1 mile for pubs, restaurant, Co-op store, butchers, etc. Arnside and Carnforth approx 4 miles for wider range of shops, restaurants and supermarkets (Booths and Tesco at Carnforth). Good choice of pubs within 5 miles. Central location in AONB gives doorstep access to local walks. 15 miles to Lakes (Kendal), Yorkshire Dales (Ingleton) and Forest of Bowland (Hornby).  

Logs for the fire can be purchased at the farm next door, also fresh eggs and outdoor-reared rare breed pork.

 

Dogs are welcome, but strictly not allowed in bedrooms or on the furniture. Please let us know when booking if you plan to bring a dog.
